The Power of People

There are three kinds of employees and salespeople – Contributors, Vacationers and Prisoners. Contributors offer positive attitudes and behaviors that contribute to the success of the organization. The ultimate success of any organization is the measure of positive success the company can receive from Contributors minus the negative energy of Prisoners and Vacationers.

What hurts an organization more – a Vacationer or Prisoner? The laissez-faire attitude of the Vacationer, the employee that punches a clock but produces as little as possible, creates unobserved destruction of good will and drains the energy of fellow employees. A Prisoner, while frustrated and often a squeaky wheel at the office, can hurt also do great damage to a company vision. Conversely, some Prisoners are frustrated as a result of the actions of Vacationers within your organization.
